What is check-in and check-out time?
Check-in time is 3 PM and check-out time is 12 PM.
What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?
The hotel's standard cancellation policy is 4PM, 48 hours prior to arrival. However, please note that certain rates are non-cancellable, non-refundable bookings that require advance payment upon booking.
How do I pay for a guest's reservation?/How can my company pay for my booking?
Please email reservationsny@publichotels.com and we will send you a credit card authorization form to have a third-party pay for a guest's reservation.
How do I get a copy of my folio?/If I have questions about my folio, who do I speak to?
For inquiries regarding your folio, or to receive an emailed copy of your folio, please email reservationsny@publichotels.com.
How much do you hold on my credit card at check-in?/The amount on my credit card bill doesn’t match my final bill – who can I speak to?
Upon check-in, your credit card is authorized for the full room stay, taxes, and fees, and an additional $200 for incidentals. Upon check-out, your credit card is charged for the final folio amount. Please allow 2 to 5 business days (may be longer for international credit cards) for your credit card statement to reflect the final charged amount. Do you have a gym?
Yes, we have a state-of-the-art gym located on the Lower Lobby level of the hotel, open 24 hours a day – just use your guestroom keycard to access. There is complimentary water, headphones, and towels available for your convenience in the gym. Fitness equipment includes treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, free weights, adjustable benches, medicine balls, kettlebells, and yoga mats. We have a Life Fitness SYNRGY360 total gym system with TRX bands and battle ropes, and more strength machines including: chest press, leg press, row, and multiple pulley machines.
Do you have parking?
PUBLIC has preferred self-parking rates available at Bowery First parking garage, located just a few blocks away from the hotel at 11 East 1st Street. The rate is $40 for a 24-hour period for a standard-sized vehicle, or $50 for a 24-hour period for an SUV or oversized vehicle. Please note there are no in-and-out privileges. Is PUBLIC pet-friendly?
PUBLIC is a pet-friendly hotel; we accept pets under 30 pounds and do require a pet waiver to be completed at check-in. There is a $100 pet fee for the stay.
Can you smoke in the hotel rooms?
All of our hotel rooms are non-smoking. Please note there is a penalty fee of $500 for smoking in the room.
May I have an early check-in?/Do you have a luggage storage room if my room is not ready?
Early check-ins are based on availability; to guarantee an early check-in, we recommend booking the night prior and letting the hotel know to check in the reservation to hold for your arrival the next morning. Additionally, we may have an early check in package available that guarantees check-in by 6 AM. Please contact reservationsny@publichotels.com to check availability and to update us on your expected time of arrival!
We do have a luggage storage room to leave your luggage should the room not be ready upon your arrival. Until you're checked-in, we also invite you to enjoy our Lobby Lounge, open exclusively for hotel guests from 6 AM to 5 PM daily.
Do you have room service?
We provide a modern rethought service without the high prices or long wait, LOUIS To Go – you can order from our gourmet market, LOUIS, by placing an order online at www.publichotels.com/order, and then pick it up in 7 minutes from the bar next to LOUIS.

What is The Roof door policy? Do I have access as a hotel guest?
Hotel Guests are given priority access for 2 people per room. We do recommend making reservations after 9PM, or for larger parties – please email bars@publichotels.com for booking assistance.
Can we bring our children to The Roof?
The Roof is a nightlife venue that serves alcohol; as such, the minimum age to enter the space is 21.
